Art to me

Art to me is the aesthetic delivery of an idea or emotional perspective that can be, if chosen to, delivered in an intellectualized logical manner, but if done so would not longer be seen as art. It is not so much about being succinct in the argumentative delivery of the idea, but in being succinct in the conjuring of the aesthetic from the imagination of the imaginator, to close the gap between thought and paper or vision and canvas or pitch and then correct notation choice, etc. Simply, its about feeling good about the feeling that it creates rather then a logical success. Much of adult life is goal oriented and we use logic as our ultimate tool. Experiencing art reminds me of childhood, a new world opens up, or, the same world, but somehow arranged in a creative manner that makes us see the same damn thing we’ve seen time and time from a perspective fresh and electrifying. You lose yourself in the flourishing of expression just like you use to lose yourself so easily in an intense imaginative magnitude of something like a pillow fight or an adventurous bike ride. The artist enacts such passionate dedicative expression for something not logically oriented, yet so captivating, that you cannot help but lose your adult “a to b” self for a moment or more and be inspired and share in the weakapaug groove.
